Wimshurst machine construction
Natasha's Wimshurst static electricity generating machine science fair project. These photos document some parts of the construction process (which took many weeks to design, build, test, fix, redesign, and document). More than once, small problems make it seem like the machine would never work. Small sharp points that caused electrical leakage (corona discharge) were the bane of the project. Finally, she got some good serious-but-harmless sparks just days before it was due.
